About Matthew

Matthew is a Partner at Morris Mennilli. He acts for individuals and private and public companies in a broad range of commercial and administrative law disputes across industries which include financial services, energy and resources, construction and agriculture.

Matthew has extensive experience acting for ASX-listed corporations, private companies and individuals in complex disputes, including:

    • Acting for shareholders in a class action against an ASX-listed engineering company and its directors to prosecute claims for alleged contraventions of Corporations Act disclosure obligations

    • Acting for the owners and managers of large cattle stations in the Kimberley region in relation to a $100M dispute between two groups of investors concerning the ultimate control of the venture

    • Acting for the principals of a trans-Tasman consulting firm in a dispute involving allegations of breaches of directors’ duties and oppressive conduct

    • Acting for the majority shareholders of a private bus business in relation to an oppression suit brought by a minority shareholder

    • Acting for a group of companies in relation to a dispute arising out of the sale of a whisky distillery

    • Acting for various employers and employees in relation to restraints of trade and other employment disputes 

    • Acting for witnesses appearing before ICAC in inquiries into the conduct of former Ministers Obeid and Macdonald

    • Successfully prosecuting judicial review proceedings challenging a decision by the Minister to defer the conferral of Australian citizenship
